This recipe is a quick and easy way to whip up a mug of nourishing golden milk. I posted a recipe for golden milk awhile ago that involved making a golden paste. The recipe made enough paste for multiple portions and it could be stored in the refrigerator for use at a later time. My easy golden milk recipe is for when you want to make a nice hot mug of golden milk on the fly. My favorite way to enjoy golden milk is at night as an after dinner treat.
The process is simple, toss all the ingredients (minus the honey) in a sauce pan, heat until hot, add honey and enjoy! This recipe makes 2 smaller servings or one larger serving. I like to use canned organic, full fat coconut milk. Since the full-fat coconut milk is so thick and creamy, I cut it in half with water. If you use coconut or almond milk from the carton, the consistency should be fine and you won’t want to cut it in half with water.
- 2 cups plant milk (I use coconut milk)
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- dash of cardamom
- pinch of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon honey
- Add all ingredients, except honey, to a sauce pan and whisk to combine.
- Simmer over low heat until hot but not boiling. Remove from heat and add honey, whisk to combine.
- Pour into cups and enjoy hot.
